A couple embracing outdoors -- the connection and vitality functional medicine helps restore.
Root-Cause Medicine

Find out why you feel this way — not just what to call it.

Fatigue, brain fog, stubborn weight, disrupted sleep, low libido, mood swings — conventional care often stops at a normal lab result and a diagnosis code. Functional medicine keeps asking why until we find what's actually driving how you feel, then builds a plan around fixing that, not just managing what it's causing.

At Front Range, this program sits under the same physician-led standard of care as everything else we offer: real evaluation first, a plan built around your goals second, and a treatment protocol third.

The Difference

What is functional medicine?

Many people are unaware of what functional medicine is and how it differs from traditional medicine. Traditional medicine is primarily designed to diagnose and treat disease, using evidence-based medications, procedures, and preventive care to manage symptoms, reduce complications, and improve health outcomes. Functional medicine uses a broader, systems-based approach, asking why a condition developed and looking for potentially modifiable contributors such as nutrition, metabolism, hormones, inflammation, sleep, stress, gastrointestinal health, and lifestyle. The two approaches are complementary rather than mutually exclusive; functional medicine can be incorporated alongside conventional medical care.

Insurance coverage also differs. Traditional medical visits, laboratory testing, imaging, and treatments are generally covered when they meet the insurer’s medical-necessity and benefit requirements. Functional medicine often involves longer consultations, expanded laboratory evaluation, nutritional or lifestyle interventions, supplements, and other services that insurers may consider non-covered or investigational. As a result, patients may have greater out-of-pocket costs for functional medicine services.

“Most medical care today is fragmented — a specialist for your hormones, another for your gut, another for your sleep, rarely talking to one another. Functional medicine is how we put the whole picture back together under one roof.”

What We Address

Whatever's driving how you feel, we're looking for it.

Hormone & Metabolic Balance

Thyroid, adrenal, and sex-hormone imbalances that show up as fatigue, weight changes, and mood shifts — often missed by a standard panel.

Gut & Digestive Health

Bloating, irregularity, and food sensitivities are frequently signs of a gut environment that needs to be restored, not just managed.

Chronic Fatigue & Brain Fog

When "tired all the time" doesn't show up on a basic blood panel, we look at the metabolic and inflammatory factors a standard workup doesn't screen for.

Sleep & Stress Regulation

Poor sleep and chronic stress both drive — and are driven by — hormonal and metabolic imbalance. We treat them as connected, not separate complaints.

Weight & Metabolism

When weight won't move despite real effort, metabolic dysfunction is often the reason. Fixing the metabolism comes before the diet plan, not after.

Nutritional & Cellular Health

Targeted nutritional support and lab-guided supplementation to correct deficiencies that are quietly driving how you feel day to day.

Told Everything Is Normal?

Had the workup — even an upper and lower endoscopy — and still don't feel right?

If you've been through the standard workup and been told everything looks normal, but you still don't feel like yourself, you're not imagining it. Functional medicine looks at what conventional testing isn't designed to catch, closing the gap between a "normal" result and how you actually feel — so you can get back to feeling healthy and functioning normally again.
